Kenya: Uhuru says there’s no money to pay new teachers

The government has no money to employ 28,000 new teachers on permanent terms, Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta has said.  In a statement issued in Parliament, Mr Kenyatta pleaded with teachers to end their strike and return to the negotiating table.
